How To Stay Cool During Heatwave In The Town Of Huntington
Here is how to beat the heat in the township, as Long Island is set to experience several days of 90-degree temperatures.

TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — With temperatures in the 90s expected for the next week, the Town of Huntington announced a few ways it will help residents beat the heatwave.
Supervisor Ed Smyth designated various Town of Huntington facilities as cooling centers for Town residents for the duration of the heat wave.
"Please conserve power when you can, check on elderly neighbors and never leave pets outside in these temperatures,” Smyth said. “Stay hydrated and cool off at any one of these Town facilities.”

Town of Huntington beaches will have extended lifeguard protection until 7 p.m. for the duration of the heatwave. More information on town beaches can be found on the town website.
To help town residents beat the heat this week, the town will be offering the following facilities as cooling centers to Town of Huntington residents for the rest of the heatwave:

Restricted to Town of Huntington residents:
Dix Hills Park
Where: Dix Hills Pool & Lobby of Clark Gillies Arena (formerly Dix Hills Ice Rink).
What: Free access to the pool for the duration of the heatwave.

Hours: 12:30 p;.m. (after Camps end) to 8 p.m.

Elwood Park
Where: Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo Memorial Spray Park.
What: Recreation ID Card requirement waived for duration of heatwave.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (for Children with Special Needs)
Hours: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (for General Public)
