Hurricane Ida Remnants Rock Lloyd Harbor, Suffolk North Shore

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — As the remnants of Hurricane Ida swarmed Long Island on Wednesday, some areas were harder hit than others. The areas bearing the brunt of the storm include Northport, Ridge, Lloyd Harbor and Huntington, according to PSEG Long Island.

Power outages, downed trees and flooded streets were left in Ida's wake. More than 1,000 people in the Town of Huntington are still without power as of 3 p.m. Thursday, according to a PSEG LI map of outages.

A tornado watch was issued for Long Island late Wednesday night. The storm caused serious damage in North Shore Suffolk County, specifically in the Lloyd Harbor area.

Cecilia Dowd, of Newsday, tweeted a picture of a tree that nearly fell on Lloyd Neck homeowners while they were sleeping.
