Nesaquake Middle School Students Collect Items For Hurricane Milton Victims

The club collected items such as toothpaste, toilet paper, socks, and paper towels for Floridians impacted by Hurricane Milton.

SMITHTOWN, NY — In Smithtown, "neighbors help neighbors even if they live in another state," the Smithtown Central School District stated.

The Nesaquake Middle School Community Service Club recently hosted a donation drive to help Hurricane Milton victims.

At least 32 people have died because of the hurricane, WNKY News 40 reported. Millions of Floridians lost power after Hurricane Milton rocked the state's Gulf Coast.

"If my family was in trouble I’d want people to help out," student Thomas Kratz said, according to a news release. "It’s really rewarding."

Supervised by English teacher Marissa LoSardo, the club collected items such as toothpaste, toilet paper, socks, and paper towels. The Johnny Mac Foundation collected the donations and will drive them down south.
