2 Shot Outside Washington Heights Seafood Market: NYPD

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Two people were shot outside of a Washington Heights seafood market on Thursday, police said.

Officers responded to shots fired shortly after midnight in front of Calle 191 Pescaderia at 1609 Saint Nicholas Ave., between West 190th and 191st streets, police said.

A 24-year-old man and 34-year-old man were shot after a fight broke out in front of the seafood market, police said.

The younger of the two men was struck in the back, torso and butt, while the 34-year-old man was hit in the left leg, police said.

Both men were rushed to local hospitals in stable condition, police said.

Calle 191 Pescaderia did not immediately answer a phone call from Patch.

It is unclear what prompted the fight.
