3 Women Shot In Washington Heights Section Of Riverside Park: Police
A trio of women attending a gathering in Riverside Park were shot on Monday evening, police said.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Three women attending the same gathering in a Washington Heights section of Riverside Park were shot on Monday night, police said.
Officers responded to shots fired about 9 p.m. within Riverside Park near West 158th Street to find multiple injuries, police said.
A 19-year-old woman was shot in both her right and left calves, while a second 20-year-old woman was shot in her left thigh, police said.

Both women were rushed to the Columbia University Irving Medical Center in stable condition, police said.
Upon further investigation, authorities found that a third 28-year-old woman had also been shot in her left shin at the same location, but had taken herself to Montefiore Medical Center before officers arrived, police said.

The three women were all at the same unspecified Riverside Park gathering, but did not know each other, police said.
NYPD also did not provide any information about the shooter, if there is a suspect, and what they might look like.
There is no photo or video available from the shooting, and the NYPD is hoping to secure any cellphone video that might have been taken at the time, police said.
