Mecklenburg County Offers Free Home Disinfecting To Seniors
The offer for the free professional COVID-19 disinfecting service is through a partnership with Bio-One.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Senior citizens in Mecklenburg County are eligible to have their homes disinfected for free as a preventative measure to help reduce the spread of coronavirus, Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services announced Friday.
The one-time service for professional COVID-19 disinfecting service is offered through a partnership with Bio-One, the county said.
"Bio-One will apply a CDC/EPA-approved chemical to all surfaces, doorknobs, handles, light switches and high traffic areas of the home. The chemical is safe for pets and children," the county said

In order to qualify, residents must:
- Live in Mecklenburg County
- Be aged 60 or older
- Be able to leave their home for about one hour during the service
