- A boil advisory was issued in Marietta yesterday afternoon. Residents on Ellsworth and Margaret Street should boil water before use while the advisory is in effect due to emergency repairs on a water main. While advisories generally last for 24 hours, residents with questions can call (74) 374-6864. (Marietta Ohio via Facebook)
- The Marietta City Council passed an ordinance for taxi services on Thursday evening. GreenCab of Athens will provide taxi services for a six-month period (which began yesterday) for $122,496. Ordinance 180 (22-23) was passed for the On-Demand, After-Hours and Alternative-Hours Transportation Pilot Program for the city. (Subscription: The Marietta Times)
- Washington County Commissioners held their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday evening and discussed goals for the county in 2023. Among those were an enhanced 911 system, competing for state and federal funding for safe and clean water, lift station project for the county’s sewer system, wage parity for the prosecutor’s office, and the state’s 821 bridge project.
