Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:

  1. If you're looking forward to picnic season, get your menu ready by attending tonight's virtual historic cooking class at The Castle House Historic House Museum! The "Let's Go Outside" class, scheduled tonight (Monday, Mar. 21) via Zoom from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., is conducted in partnership with The Cook's Shop downtown. Attendees will receive recipes for potatoes in croquettes, chicken salad, slaw, and Minnehaha Cake. (Parkersburg News)
  2. On Tuesday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol will hold its recruit physical training tests at Marietta College's Dyson-Baudo center. The physical tests are just part of the hiring process, which includes written tests, medical and psychological tests, and more. Recruits in the academy receive $18.66 an hour, with a $62,000 annual salary upon graduation. Anyone interested in learning more is asked to call 740-439-1388 and ask for Sgt. Garic Warner.
