Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:
- A dead body was found on the side of the road in Washington County on Saturday. The body was located on the roadside of State Route 7. The deceased man was identified as 30-year-old Chade E. Stock of Marietta. The cause of death is unknown and the investigation is ongoing. (WTAP)
- Marietta Franciscan Meals Community is looking for volunteers to help deliver meals. In December 2022, 68 volunteers completed 338 hours of work delivering 596 meals to the community. - A fatal crash occurred on Sunday around 5:50 a.m. on County Road 20 (Sandhill Road) between Jett Hill and Kennon Lane. Jeromy Seevers, 47, was driving a Jeep Wrangler when he left the right side of the roadway and hit a ditch causing the vehicle to overturn. Seevers' injuries from the crash were fatal and he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. (Subscription: The Marietta Times)
