- Following an electrical fire last Thursday, The Levee House Bistro in Marietta is on its way to recovery. Co-owner and Executive Chef Tom Hickey and his team managed to contain the fire using fire extinguishers until the authorities arrived. With the support of the local restaurant community, Hickey and his team have been working hard to reopen, as they have been receiving many calls and messages of encouragement. (WTAP)
- Marksmen Energy Inc. has announced a partnership with EMF Geoscience, Inc. (a Marietta-based firm) to develop light oil drilling opportunities in Ohio. EMF will assist in selecting new projects using geology, seismic, and historic well information from wildcat wells in the oil basins. EMF will outline oil and gas reservoir drilling targets using modern 3-D seismic, focusing on Ohio's high-demand, Pennsylvania-grade light gravity crude oil, and negotiate seismic fees and a working interest with Marksmen for each target drilling location identified. - Marietta is calling for the support of the American Red Cross. Volunteers play a crucial role in providing support to vulnerable people during emergencies and disasters, and their efforts deserve recognition. In the Ohio Valley and across Appalachia, volunteers are particularly vital to the Red Cross' work. These volunteers work tirelessly to provide assistance and support to those in need.
