- Marietta College softball player Rachel Kazmirski recently made the Tucci/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III watch list for Player & Pitcher of the Year. Kazmirski currently leads the Ohio Athletic Conference in every triple crown category, with eight home runs, 31 runs batted in, and a 0.542 batting average. (Marietta Times)
- The Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is celebrating its 90th anniversary. The post celebrated with an open house, a facility tour, and a chance to speak with troopers and professional staff. The Ohio State Patrol says the law enforcement agency began on Nov. 15, 1933. - Spring is bee swarm season, and calmness is crucial when dealing with bee swarms in the Mid-Ohio Valley. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, bees are declining, and that's a big problem.
