  1. A democratic candidate has taken his mayor candidacy denial to the Ohio Supreme Court. Ari Gold was denied by the Washington County Board of Elections because he did not include his previous name on the ballot, which is required in the state based on a revised code. This issue is gaining attention in the Marietta election because, without his name on the ballot, there will be no democratic candidate. Voter registration will begin on Apr. 3 and sample ballots should be available before the end of this week, according to Washington County Board of Elections Director Mandy Amos. (WTAP)
  2. The new EMS service appears to be on track to start by Apr. 1 in nearby Belpre. The city's Safety Service Director Connie Hoblitzell is confident in the new plan being successful with a combination of all the knowledge and experience of the members on the board in their respective fields. The only things currently in need are an accountant and an insurer but otherwise, next month's start date is looking like a reality. (WTAP)
  3. West Virginia University (WVU) at Parkersburg will host an evening panel in celebration of Women's History Month on Mar. 30 with women from the community and the college who have broken the "glass ceiling" and became leaders in their field and community. In addition to the five women on the panel, female leaders of local nonprofit organizations, service leaders, and more will also be invited as they understand firsthand how much hard work pays off. In addition to the panel, a display will be present courtesy of the WVU Parkersburg Art Club and Psychology Club showcasing women in art and psychology history. This event will be free to the public and a great opportunity for students to connect with leaders in the community. (WV News)
