Here are the top two stories today in Marietta:

  1. A Marietta woman who was arrested for corrupting two juveniles with drugs has been sentenced to 15 days in jail after pleading guilty. Ashley Mayle appeared in court and played guilty to the third-degree felony attempted corrupting another with drugs, three fourth-degree felony corrupting another with drugs, and one third-degree felony tampering with evidence. She was also given five years of community control. (Marietta Times)
  2. In a special session on Monday, the Marietta City Council met to swear in new council members. First Ward Councilor Mike Scales, Fourth Ward Councilor Geoff Schenkel, and and council clerk, Jennifer Thomas were sworn in. They also adopted the first ordinance of the year. (Marietta Times)
