Here are the top three stories today in Marietta:
- A Marietta man is facing charges after he allegedly held a gun to his girlfriend’s head for getting calls about job opportunities. Brandon Bruce has been charged with aggravated menacing, two counts of domestic violence, and having weapons under disability. The victim told law enforcement that Bruce swore at her, grabbed her face, hit her, and kicked her before pulling out a gun. (WTAP)
- One person was killed Thursday night in an accident on Ohio 339. The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. at Ohio 339 and Washington County 806 near Spence Lane. A vehicle was attempting to turn left but failed to yield and was struck by oncoming traffic. (Subscription: Marietta Times)
- Thursday night, Marietta College Faculty Council had a closed meeting because of the events that took place this week. The council discussed the budget crisis and financial hardships that the college is facing. The results of the meeting were not made public. (Subscription: Marietta Times)
