  1. The Marietta College Pioneers defeated the John Carroll Blue Streaks during the men's basketball matchup on Thursday night. The Marietta team came back from a 39-21 deficit at halftime to secure a narrow 79-75 victory over the host team. The victory secured the Pioneers' advancement in the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament semifinals. (Marietta Times)
  2. A football player from Marietta College is being hailed as a hero for donating his stem cells to a stranger earlier this year. Senior offensive lineman Jack Wallace says he was inspired to sign up for the "Be The Match" program because of his head coach. Wallace's donated stem cells were used to help the anonymous recipient fight cancer. (WTAP)
  3. A woman in nearby Parkersburg was arrested earlier this month after police discovered heroin in her vehicle during a traffic stop. The incident occurred on Saturday, Feb. 4, when troopers arrested Cassandra Buser following a search. Buser has been charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession of less than 15 grams of marijuana, and multiple traffic violations. (WBOY.com)
