- Some Ohio families may be eligible for thousands of dollars in scholarships. Thanks to Governor Mike DeWine’s Drive to Succeed Scholarship Program and Youthful Driver Safety Fund, around 25 governmental agencies that serve Ohio teens in low-income families are being awarded more than $575,000 in teen driver safety scholarship awards. Ohio Valley Educational Service Center, which serves Washington County and neighboring counties, was awarded $25,000 from the grant. (WTAP)
- Our local baseball team is dominating the diamond. Etta Express enjoyed its sixth straight win on Friday evening with a 12-2 victory over Kalamazoo College. The team was on fire, with Ben Sobb retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning and sophomore Zach Marzetz tossing 5.0 shutout innings of relief to get the win. (Pioneers)
- An employee relations meeting is set to happen this Wednesday. The meeting is intended for residents who work for the City of Marietta and will discuss the previously-tabled sick policy, contract negotiations, and the approved WTP unfilled electrician position. Interested city employees can attend the meeting, which will be held at 304 Putnam St. in the second-floor conference room at 6:00 p.m. (City of Marietta)
