Here are the top two stories today in Marietta:

  1. Marietta City Schools are requiring students and faculty to wear masks upon their return this week. Superintendent Will Hampton stated in a Facebook post that this mask mandate is in response to the increasing spread of COVID-19. Everyone, including visitors, will have to wear a mask in all district facilities. (Marietta Times)
  2. A new Affordable Connectivity Program has been created to help Marietta residents in low-income houses afford broadband service and internet-connected devices. This program is a part of the affordability connectivity program that Congress recently passed. The ACP gives users a discount of up to $30 per month towards internet service for eligible households.
