- The Washington County Health Department has issued a recall alert for a popular child's product. Green Sprout's Toddler's Stainless Steel Bottles and Cups have been recalled due to a risk of lead poisoning. According to officials, the bottles and cups can break at the bottom, exposing children to lead. Parents are advised to either dispose of or return the items. - Marietta College is hiring for a full-time position. The college is seeking a Controller. The position would oversee the Accounting & Business Services Department. Responsibilities would include handling accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and payroll. (Marietta College via Facebook)
- On Nov. 25, agents with the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force arrested a Marietta resident for drugs during a traffic stop. Shawn Allen Gates, Jr. was stopped near Washington Street while driving a silver Dodge van. During a routine inspection, officers found cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.
