Downtown Pittsburgh Stabbing Incident: More Violence In Cultural District

PITTSBURGH, PA — Police are probing a stabbing incident that occurred Downtown on Sunday night.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, police responded to the 900 block of Liberty Avenue at around 10:15 p.m. after a man walked into a business with a stab wound to his back/upper shoulder.

The man was conscious, alert, and speaking with officers and medics. He was transported by Pittsburgh EMS in stable condition to an area hospital.

The victim was largely uncooperative with officers, but he indicated the incident might have taken place near Exchange Way and 9th Street. However, a crime scene was not immediately located.

Detectives are reviewing all available video footage to determine the location of the scene, as well as any actor information. The investigation is ongoing.
