Former Pittsburgh-Area Police Chief Arrested On Drug Charges

PITTSBURGH, PA — A former Pittsburgh-area police chief and school board member was arrested Thursday on multiple drug charges.
Eric Doutt, 56, the former chief in Arnold, Westmoreland County, faces six charges of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver. He also faces one charge of criminal use of a communication facility.
The charges are related to an Oct. 23 incident in Rayburn Township, Armstrong County. Further information was unavailable Friday morning but is expected to be forthcoming from the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.

Doutt retired as police chief in Arnold in January 2024. He also served as a New Kensington-Arnold School District director.
Doutt is being held in the Armstrong County Jail after being unable to post $250,000 bond. He faces a preliminary hearing on Nov. 19.
