Landmark Pittsburgh Restaurant Closing After 9 Decades
Nearly a century's worth of tradition is about to end as this legendary Pittsburgh bar and restaurant has announced its impending closure.
PITTSBURGH, PA — After nine decades of operation, a legendary Pittsburgh bar and restaurant is shutting its doors for good.
The Grant Bar in Millvale's last day of operation will be Nov. 29. The announcement came via social media.
"After 90 remarkable years of serving you, it is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude that we announce the closing of the Grant Bar," a Facebook post stated.

"This decision has not come easily. For a century, our family, staff, and community have poured their passion into every plate, every conversation and every shared moment within these walls.
"We have welcomed generations of families, celebrated countless milestones and had the privilege of becoming a small but meaningful part of your lives. That legacy is something we will cherish forever.

"However, as times change and new challenges arise, we have reached a moment when continuing in the same way is no longer possible. While the doors of our restaurants will soon close, the memories we've created together - laughter over dinners, warmth on winter nights and the simple joy of gathering - will live on in our hearts.
"Though this goodbye is bittersweet, we take comfort in knowing that our story lives on through all of you."
