Woman Found Dead Inside Vehicle In Pittsburgh Area

PITTSBURGH, PA — Her body was found in a vehicle covered with blankets and a duffle bag.
Allegheny County police have charged a Wilkinsburg man in connection with a Westmoreland County homicide investigation.
On Monday, Washington Township Police received information about a possible homicide, along with a location for the suspect and the vehicle involved. The vehicle was found outside of a home in the 2500 block of Turkey Ridge Road; in it was the body of Jacqueline Pryber, 66.

Detectives from the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office requested the assistance of the Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit once information was received indicating the homicide had occurred in Allegheny County.
Detectives initiated an investigation and concluded that Shawn Higgins, 62, struck Prybe multiple times leading to her death while they were inside his vehicle in the 9000 block of Saltsburg Road in Plum.

Higgins was taken into custody and is charged with criminal homicide. He is currently in the Allegheny County Jail.
