Johnston Police Arrest Alleged Car Thief After Highway Chase
John Henry Lyons may be implicated in several other larcenies, police said.

JOHNSTON, RI — Police have arrested a Providence man in connection with thefts from cars parked at the Home Depot in Johnston. John Henry Lyons, 41, of Providence, was taken into custody Thursday morning after a car chase that started in the Home Depot parking lot in Johnston and ended on Route 6 (East).
Providence police assisted with the car stop, according to Johnston deputy Chief Joseph Razza. According to the Johnston police, an officer saw Lyons leaving the Home Depot parking lot in a van and attempted to stop him. The van was reported stolen from Warwick and police believe it was carrying stolen goods from other locations.
Lyons is being charged with felony Possession of a Motor Vehicle, felony Larceny from a motor vehicle, and two misdemeanors (Driving with a suspended license and Eluding a police officer).

But the case is still developing, and police said Lyons could be charged with more larcenies statewide, primarily from parked cars at home improvement stores.
