Johnston Police Welcome New Officers
The officers were graduated from the municipal police academy on Friday.

JOHNSTON, RI — The police department on Friday welcome three new officers. Officers Nicholas Manocchio, Kayleigh Cooper and Michael Schiappa were graduated Friday from the municipal police academy. According to Laura Meade Kirk, spokeswoman for the state Department of Public Safety, some 53 police recruits in all received their certifications at the commencement. The ceremony, the academy's 130th, was held at the Community College of Rhode Island Flanagan Campus in Lincoln. The recruits had 20 weeks of training, she said.
