Newport Accepting Online Storm Damage Reports
Residents and business owners can submit a storm damage report until Wednesday.

NEWPORT, RI — Newporters have until Wednesday to submit storm damage reports from the remnants of Hurricane Ida, to help the city qualify for federal funding.
Both residents and business owners are encouraged to report any damage caused by the storm. The reports will be used to determine if the city's damages and expenses met the threshold for a federal disaster declaration, triggering public or individual assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Reports must be submitted by noon on Wednesday on the city's website.

Submitting a report is not a guarantee of or application for federal assistance, the city clarified. It only officially notes property damage.
