Newport: Marine 6, Fire Department's New Boat, To Arrive Monday
The new boat will be named "William H. Connerton, Jr," and the official christening is Saturday, May 5.
NEWPORT, RI — The Fire Department's new boat, Marine 6, is on the way to Newport from California, according to Capt. Paul Faerber. It's due to arrive Monday. The boat will be named "William H. Connerton, Jr.," after the former fire chief. The official christening is Saturday, May 5 at 10 a.m. at Perrotti Park on America's Cup Avenue.
