Newport Road Work: Bellevue Avenue Section To Close On Wednesday

National Grid will be working on Bellevue Avenue at Prospect Hill Street, and traffic from Memorial Boulevard will be redirected, police say

NEWPORT, RI—A section of Bellevue Avenue will close on Wednesday while National Grid completes work from an earlier job, police said. The construction starts around 7 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. The company will be pouring concrete. Police said the "work includes the full excavation of concrete panels and pouring of new concrete in the northbound lane" of Bellevue from Memorial Boulevard to Prospect Hill Street.

Traffic headed northbound on Bellevue Avenue from Memorial Boulevard will be diverted to Americas Cup Avenue. Police will be on detail to assist motorists.
