Robert Redford Visits Newport Mansion
The acclaimed actor and filmmaker is in Newport for the filming of a new movie.
NEWPORT, RI—The Newport Mansions draw visitors from across the globe.
On Sunday, Robert Redford was among those who came to pay a visit.
Redford showed up unannounced at Rosecliff, according to the Preservation Society of Newport County.

And it wasn't his first visit. Redford starred in "The Great Gatsby" more than 40 years ago and the mansion was the backdrop in some scenes.
"Robert Redford slipped onto the grounds briefly, no doubt recalling the great party scenes that were filmed there. One of our staff was able to catch this snapshot," the Preservation Society of Newport County said in a post on its Facebook page.

Redford is in Newport for the filming of his new movie, "The Discovery."
