Threat of Snow in RI Lingers Through Tuesday
Winter ended two weeks ago but it sure feels like winter in Rhode Island right now.
RHODE ISLAND—A stubborn spring storm is bringing snow to Rhode Island on Sunday, making it hard to believe winter ended more than two weeks ago.
Most of the state will end up with just an inch or so, but inland areas could end up with up to three inches before the storm is done for the day.
But the end of snow this afternoon isn't the end. Snow will return early Monday and could bring another round of accmulation.

"By Tuesday, high pressure will slowly move southeast and over the Mid-Atlantic States. It will provide us with sunny skies, but temperatures will remain well below normal," said local meteorologist Jim Laurie. "Pull out the winter coats, as daytime highs will only reach the middle 30’s."

A Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Rhode Island is due to expire at 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
"This has the potential to be a high impact but short duration event, so do not be caught off guard," the weather service said.
Temperatures will feel cold and wintry until Wednesday, when the daytime high finally breaks 40 degrees. On Thursday, temperatures should reach about 60.
