- WJAR-TV reports Woonsocket's own Keith Apicary was eliminated from "America's Got Talent" this week following his performance in the quarterfinals Tuesday. (WJAR)

- David Linton of The Sun Chronicle reports a former Woonsocket man received probation after admitting he was driving while under the influence of Xanax and cocaine in a February crash in North Attleboro. Zachary Schleicher, 27, of Whitman, hit a fire hydrant and a car, then drove off and became stuck in a snowbank. No one was hurt. (The Sun Chronicle)
- According to the Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns, Woonsocket seeks a new city tax assessor. The non-union position pays up to $75,000 a year, and the deadline to apply is Sept. 10. (Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns)
- GoLocalProv reports Woonsocket concert pianist and music teacher Jeannine C. B. Mills died Sunday. She was 87. (GoLocalProv)
