1. Ken Abrams of What'sUpNewp reports that an uplifting gospel show is coming to Woonsocket next week. Rev. Sekou and the Seal Breakers will put on a free show at the Levitt AMP on Aug. 13. Sekou, Abrams reports, is an activist who teaches non-violent resistance. (What'sUpNewp)
2. The Woonsocket Harris Public Library says it will close Monday for Victory Day.
3. Michael Scheidt of WJBF reports that CVS Health is raising the minimum wage for employees to $15 an hour beginning in July 2022. CVS is headquartered in Woonsocket. (WJBF)
4. The city of Woonsocket is recruiting police officers to make $1079.47 a week, which amounts to about $56,000 a year. Interested? The deadline to apply is Sept. 17. (Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns)
