- Ken Abrams of What'sUpNewp reports that an uplifting gospel show is coming to Woonsocket next week. Rev. Sekou and the Seal Breakers will put on a free show at the Levitt AMP on Aug. 13. Sekou, Abrams reports, is an activist who teaches non-violent resistance. (What'sUpNewp)
- The Woonsocket Harris Public Library says it will close Monday for Victory Day.
- Michael Scheidt of WJBF reports that CVS Health is raising the minimum wage for employees to $15 an hour beginning in July 2022. CVS is headquartered in Woonsocket. (WJBF)
- The city of Woonsocket is recruiting police officers to make $1079.47 a week, which amounts to about $56,000 a year. Interested? The deadline to apply is Sept. 17. (Rhode Island League of Cities and Towns)
