Monday Five: Flag Retirement, Commission, Council, Fisher
Welcome to another Monday, Woonsocket, and check out these things to know:

Flag Retirement Ceremony Troop 2 / Catholic Financial Life will host its 13th annual American Flag Retirement Ceremony Sunday, June 16, 11:45 a.m. at OLQM Church on Park Avenue. Scouts need to arrive at 10:30 am to set-up. Class A uniform required.
Council tonight The City Council meets tonight for a special meeting at City Hall in the second floor conference room at 6:45 p.m. They'll consider a resolution to increase trash collection fees from $96 to $192 per household, raising $1 million as part of the Budget Commission's 5-year plan.

The council will also consider amending compensation for the council and school committee. There will be a work session immediately after to consider extending the bikepath.
Budget Commission Meets June 14 The next regular meeting of the Woonsocket Budget Commission has been rescheduled for Friday, June 14, 2013. The closed session will be held at 10 a.m.; the open session will be held at 11 a.m. An agenda for the meeting has not yet been posted.

Fisher candidate forum - Dave Fisher, Green Party candidate for Mayor, has announced the second in a series of public listening events to garner input and gain insight from local residents and business owners on the future of the city at Le Moulin Artists Mall, 68 South Main St., Woonsocket June 18, 6-8 p.m.
RiverzEdge Open Studios Join RiverzEdge Arts Project Thursday, June 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. for their 2013 Open Studios and Senior Bash. Come and check out the art and design, enjoy a potluck dinner and BBQ, DIY screen-printing, photo booth, and other hands-on activities as well as a senior awards ceremony. This is a great opportunity to come into the studios, see some amazing work from some amazing teens and wish our seniors well as they head off to the next chapter in their lives.
