Murder Victim's Neighbor Charged with Witness Tampering, Escape

Tyler Grenon, 21, was arrested after escaping police custody and interfering with witnesses, police said.

WOONSOCKET, RI—The next-door neighbor of a woman who was found murdered in her Fairfield Avenue house last week has been charged with felony witness intimidation, obstruction and escape.

Woonsocket police said Tyler Grenon, 21, was interfering with witnesses related to the investigation into the death of 81-year-old Constance Gauthier, who was found under a mattress in her ransacked home last Wednesday.

Grenon was reported to have been the person who told police he discovered Gauthier's body, but police said that officers went to the house for a well-being check after a physical therapist went to check on her after she missed an appointment.
