Witnesses at the scene reported hearing a loud bang and rushing outside to see what had caused it, finding the driver of a gray 2003 Nissan, a man in a green hat and red, white and blue outfit, and his passenger, a pregnant woman complaining of pain, leaving the accident on foot. The woman was limping from an apparent leg injury, Monfils reported.

Witnesses said the man removed papers from the vehicle before guiding the injured woman to George Street, telling people who had come out of their homes not to call 911, according to Monfils' report.
