Sequino Taking New Job, Revenue Seeks New Budget Commission Chair
East Greenwich town manager, Budget Commission chairman to become the executive director of R.I. Clean Water Finance Agency.

Bill Sequino has a new job as executive director of the RI Clean Water Finance Agency, and the Department of Revenue is looking for a new Woonsocket Budget Commission chairman.
Sequino, East Greenwich Town Manager, had recently marked 25 years on the job when he announced June 4 he'll resign from it to lead the quasi-public agency. The agency provides subsidized and low-interest loans to Rhode Island cities and towns for infrastructure projects

Christy Healey, deputy director of the Department of Revenue, said Sequino hasn't submitted a formal resignation from the Budget Commission, and they have not yet named a replacement for him. She said the Division of Municipal Finance is working on a transition plan with Sequino.
City Council President and Budget Commission member John Ward said he hasn't heard any details of Sequino's future with the Commission, though he said it's likely Friday's morning Budget Commission meeting could be the chairman's last, since he's due to take the new job in July. His last day as East Greenwich Town Manager is July 5.

Sequino replaces Anthony Simeone, who's retiring after 19 years. "This was too good to pass up," Sequino said last Tuesday.
"It was certainly a surprise but it's certainly understandable that Bill would want to seek new challenges especially when an opportunity would open up ... in an area where he has particular skills and interest," said East Greenwich Town Council President Michael Isaacs.
