Tuesday Five: Fireworks, Trash Schedule, Summer School, Riverfest

Fireworks July 3 - Fireworks will go off this year on July 3 at WWII Memorial Park, 9 p.m. The Mayor's office advises bringing chairs and blankets. 

Rubbish, Recycling Schedule - The Woonsocket Material Recycle Facility located at 943 River St., Woonsocket will be closed Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Residents on the following collection days will be delayed by one day: Thursday and Friday.

Summer School
- The Connecting for Children & Families 8th Grade Transition Program is still enrolling 8th graders in need of summer school. The program will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Monday July 8 and concluding on Friday Aug. 16 at the Woonsocket Middle School. The cost is only $75 and payment plans can be can be arranged. Riverfest - Riverzedge Arts and friends present Riverfest 2013 on Saturday, July 20, at River Island Park (at the intersection of Bernon Street and South Main Street) 12 to 4 p.m. to listen to music from Atlantic Thrills and other excellent acts, eat delicious local food, and enjoy art, workshops and recreation. 

Morning bicycle rides/parades will start from the north (Uxbridge) and from the south (Providence) meeting up at each end of the NEW SHARROWS coming through the city. 

Lost dog - Lilo (See photo) went missing on Tuesday in the area of Verdun Street and Mount St. Charles Street. The dog's family would appreciate any information you might have on the pooch's whereabouts. Call 401-649-5804 or 401-516-7936.
