Fireworks July 3 - Fireworks will go off this year on July 3 at WWII Memorial Park, 9 p.m. The Mayor's office advises bringing chairs and blankets.
Rubbish, Recycling Schedule - The Woonsocket Material Recycle Facility located at 943 River St., Woonsocket will be closed Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Residents on the following collection days will be delayed by one day: Thursday and Friday.
Summer School - The Connecting for Children & Families 8th Grade Transition Program is still enrolling 8th graders in need of summer school. The program will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning Monday July 8 and concluding on Friday Aug. 16 at the Woonsocket Middle School. The cost is only $75 and payment plans can be can be arranged. Riverfest - Riverzedge Arts and friends present Riverfest 2013 on Saturday, July 20, at River Island Park (at the intersection of Bernon Street and South Main Street) 12 to 4 p.m. to listen to music from Atlantic Thrills and other excellent acts, eat delicious local food, and enjoy art, workshops and recreation.
Morning bicycle rides/parades will start from the north (Uxbridge) and from the south (Providence) meeting up at each end of the NEW SHARROWS coming through the city.
