Welcome to Wednesday, Woonsocket, and check out these things to know.

Middle School seeks chaperones - WMS needs chaperones for rhe black & white glow dance this Friday from 7-9 at Hamlet. Call the school if you're up for volunteering your time: 401-235-6110.
Parks Pride & Wellness - The Recreation Department aims to create a "Friends of the Parks: Trash Mob" at each of the city's parks to help with litter control and to deter grafitti. To spark the initiative and to kick off this year's Fitness in the Parks series, the department is hosting Parks Pride & Wellness Day on Sunday, June 2. 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. at River Island Park. The event will feature music, food, a bounce house, demos and performances, baloons, raffles, jump roping, hula hooping and sack races. Bwana Iguana will also be there.

Trucks at Pothier - Pothier Elementary is is hosting a Touch A Truck event June 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vehicles present will include a Woonsocket Fire Truck, Recycling Truck, Monroe Dairy Truck, Stanley Tree Service Cherry Picker and Crane, Pet Big Rig, Dump Truck, RIPTA Bus, Durham School Bus and some Motorcycles and Woonsocket Police Bike Patrol.
Crafters and Vendors Include: While you Sleep I Crochet, Humming Bird Boutique, Sifuente's Fairies in a Bottle, Tupperware, Perfectly Posh, Clever Containers, 31 Gifts, Origami Owl, Avon, Tillybird's Nest, RI Doodlebug Designs, Scentsy, Spirit Bracelets, Love Green Envy, Blue Dragonfly, Rhythmic Pottery, It Wraps Body Wraps, and Wild Tree Herbs.
Food and craft vendors will also attend, and there will also be a raffle.

Tickets to the event are $3 each, or a Family 4 Pack for $10. All Purchased Tickets include 1 chance in our Door Prize Drawing for a $100 Visa Gift Card.
Main Street Open House The Main Street Open House Saturday, June 1, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will showcase the available commercial spaces in historic downtown Woonsocket with with exclusive viewings to match aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners looking to expand with available commercial space.
Representatives from local business and financial resource organizations will be available to answer questions and provide technical assistance.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
• 8:00am - 8:45am: Registration and Refreshments
• 9:00 am - 10:00am: Presentations, Welcome from Woonsocket (invited guests include Governor Chafee & Mayor Fontaine), Market Data Summary
Panel 1: Business Planning and Operations
Panel 2: Financing Your Business from Start Up to Expansion
Panel 3: The Main Street Merchant Perspective
• 10:00am - 2:00pm: Storefront Stroll (Self-guided or tours departing at 10:00 am and noon)

Cash Mob, Cash Mob - Whatcha gonna do when they come for you? Smile ear to ear, if you're like most businesses. The next Cash Mob in the city is Monday, June 3. The gathering location will be at 186 Cass Ave. in Woonsocket (parking lot across form Landmark Medical).
The two mystery businesses to be mobbed will be announced promptly at 6:15 p.m. The Cash Mob concept is simple. The idea is to gather a large group of people, mobbers, who agree to spend $20 at each venue.
The events are sponsored by the Northern RI Chamber of Commerce and the Blackstone Valley Independent Business Alliance.
