Wednesday Five: Yard Waste, Happy Birthday, Congrats to Grads, Commission
We're halfway through a busy week. Here are some things to know:

Yard waste pickup ends - Curbside pick-up of yard waste (grass clippings, small branches, weeds, etc.) will END on your trash/recycling collection day during the week of June 17 to June 21.
The drop-off site in Blackstone, MA, off Canal Street (North Smithfield) will continue to be open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, for those residents having the appropriate yard waste sticker; all residential properties in the City of Woonsocket are included in the yard waste drop-off program. Stickers can be obtained, for a $25.00 fee, at City Hall in the Department of Public Works, Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 4 pm. Proper identification and vehicle registration is required. Commercial vehicle registrations are excluded from this program.

Residents are reminded that it is illegal to throw yard waste in the household waste collection carts.
Curbside yard waste collection will resume in October. Questions can be directed to the Solid Waste Division at 401-767-8880.

Woonsocket's 125th - Celebrate the city's 125th birthday at Ciros Tavern Thursday, June 13, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A $10 donation is required for admission, granting patrons a seat for food, complimentary Hors d'oeuvres Jazz, bag pipers and a cake ceremony. The entire tavern, indoors and out, will be open for the event. Call 401-769-3330 to reserve your tickets.
WHS Graduation - On Friday, this year's group of Woonsocket High School graduates are scheduled to walk the stage at Barry Field at 4 p.m. to receive their hard-earned diplomas. Come out and cheer on the Class of 2013 as they begin their journeys into the "real world".
Budget Commission Meets June 14 The next regular meeting of the Woonsocket Budget Commission has been rescheduled for Friday, June 14, 2013. The closed session will be held at 10 a.m.; the open session will be held at 11 a.m. An agenda for the meeting has not yet been posted.
Fisher candidate forum - Dave Fisher, Green Party candidate for Mayor, has announced the second in a series of public listening events to garner input and gain insight from local residents and business owners on the future of the city at Le Moulin Artists Mall, 68 South Main St., Woonsocket June 18, 6-8 p.m.
