Woonsocket Honors Fallen Soldiers with 2013 Memorial Day Parade
Young and old marched across the city to pay respect for those who died serving the country.
Spring re-asserted itself Monday in time for this year's Memorial Day Parade, gathering local officials, schools and the Woonsocket Police Department for trek through the city honoring servicemen and women who gave their lives in service
The parade kicked off promptly at 10 a.m. from the corner of Cumberland & Clinton Streets, marching to Worral Street toward the Korean War/Vietnam War Memorial for a wreath laying ceremony, followed by the playing of Taps, and music by the Woonsocket High School band.

Next was Veteran's Memorial Bridge for a wreath laying ceremony, where Members of the Woonsocket High School ROTC and the Elks Emblem Club will carry flowers to the bridge and throw them into the river for veterans who lost their lives at sea.
