Woonsocket Teacher Arrested for Alleged Domestic Violence

It's the second time this year that Corey Lamoureux has been arrested for an alleged domestic-related offense.

WOONSOCKET, RI—A Woonsocket Middle School social studies teacher was arraigned in District Court on Wednesday after his arrest for an alleged domestic violence incident.

It was also his second domestic-violence related arrest this year.

Corey Lamoureux was arrested at Hamlet Middle School this morning after police obtained a warrant following their investigation into the April 24 incident during which he allegedly forced his way into a woman's apartment and shoved her during a dispute.

Lamoureux allegedly was intoxicated when he showed up at the door of the victim's apartment on Lyman Street and demanded to come inside at around 9:30 p.m., according to a police report.

The victom told police that she refused to let him in before he forced his way inside. He then took her cell phone when she tried to call police and shoved her during the dispute.

Lamoureux was arraigned in Sixth Division District Court on charges of domestic breaking and entering, domestic simple assault, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic failure to relinquish a telephone.

He was released on $10,000 personal recognizance and is due to appear at a later court date.

Court records show Lamoureux was arrested in February by Woonsocket police and charged with domestic simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

Those charges were dismissed on March 28.
