Woonsocket Woman Critically Injured after Route 146 Crash

The 20-year-old was standing in front of her broken-down car when it was struck by the driver of an SUV.

WOONSOCKET, RI—A 20-year-old Woonsocket woman is fighting for her life at Rhode Island Hospital after she was critically injured in crash on Route 146 in Lincoln near Interstate 295 and Route 99 Wednesday night.

Faith A. McGann's 1997 Honda Civic broke down in the left lane, according to the Rhode Island State Police.

McGann got out of her car and was standing in front of it when 38-year-old Alexia E. Rose of Lincoln drove her 2004 Cadillac SRX into into the back of McGann's Civic, police said.

McGann was thrown over a concrete barrier and landed in the breakdown lane of Route 146 North, suffering serious, life-threatening injuries, police said.

Rose was driving with two juvenile passengers in her car when the crash happened. They all suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Rhode Island and Hasbro Children Hospitals.

The crash is being investigated by a state police crash reconstruction unit and forensic service unit and is ongoing, police said.
