Thousands Gather In Chicago To Demand An End To Police Brutality
30,000 protesters started Saturday morning with a sit-down demonstration in Union Park.

I was born and raised in India before I came to Chicago to complete my master’s in journalism at Northwestern University. Writing has always been a passion, but when I learned about the abuse women my age faced, I decided to forego fictional stories to write about those who needed to be heard. That is how at the age of 14 I decided that I would dedicate my life to making a difference.
I worked as a reporter at The Telegraph in India while completing my master’s in English literature and over the past three years, have gained experience in newsrooms across the United States and South Africa.
I previously served as the editor of a weekly newspaper in Lockport, Illinois, and I recently joined Patch to continue delivering local news to readers. I look forward to telling your stories, and keeping you informed to the best of my abilities.
