Malden Catholic Has New Leadership On Crucial Board

The school's Board of Trustees provides financial and decision-making support for the high school.

MALDEN, MA — Malden Catholic High School announced two new leaders to its Board of Trustees Tuesday.

Michael Cantalupa and Amy Lonergan have been announced as the Board’s newest Chair and Vice Chair respectively. Cantalupa is a member of the school’s Class of 1979 and also served on the board in two separate stints. He spent the last two years as Vice Chair before his new appointment promotion.

“With the addition of the new 7th and 8th grade division and the expansion of our high school facilities, we are enhancing the educational experience for all students,” Cantalupa said. “I am honored to work alongside Amy and John to help guide the school’s continued growth and success.”

Cantalupa has experience in leadership roles for several nonprofit and civic boards.

Lonergan is the first woman to serve as the Board’s Vice Chair. The attorney has been involved in the school’s Advancement and Audit Committees since joining the Board in 2018. She has two children currently enrolled as students.

inspires future generations of Malden Catholic women to lead with confidence and purpose,” Lonergan said.
