Malden Catholic Names Michael Saccomani Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach

The former collegiate goalie previously served as an assistant coach at Bishop Fenwick and American International College.

MALDEN, MA — Malden Catholic High School has announced that Michael Saccomani has been named the school's varsity boys lacrosse head coach.

Saccomani is an Agawam native and former collegiate goalie who most recently served as the lacrosse associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody, while also coaching for 3D Club Lacrosse.

Saccomani also spent several years as a graduate assistant at American International College, where he was the goalie coach, defensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator and in charge of the university's strength and conditioning program.

"Coach Saccomani emerged out of a great pool of applicants," Malden Catholic Athletic Director William Raycraft said. "(Saccomani) is an educator who has a deep and thorough knowledge of lacrosse and understands the balance required to be a successful student and competitive athlete. He has a driving energy that inspires players and will serve to restore the winning tradition of the MC Boys Lacrosse program."

Saccomani attended Western New England University between 2010-2013, earning First Team All-Western Massachusetts honors and being named All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), while also leading the Golden Bears to the conference title.

Saccomani said he is looking forward to leading Malden Catholic back to the top in high school lacrosse.

"Over the years, Malden Catholic has a tradition of leading lacrosse in conference and state standings, and I am extremely excited about having the opportunity to coach lacrosse and work with the team at a very high level," Saccomani said. "I look forward to elevating the program and bringing Lancer lacrosse back to its rich and prominent roots."
