Malden Recognizes 2 Long-time Teachers Ahead Of Retirement
Katie Valley and Tina Buonomo have a combined 70 years of experience in the district.

MALDEN, MA — Two longtime Malden Public School teachers were recognized by city leaders, as both are on the verge of retirement.
Katie Valley and Tina Buonomo have a combined 70 years of being educators in the district. While both are currently working at the Beebe School on Pleasant Street, both have unique histories of experience.
Valley got her first job directly after graduating college in 1986. Prior to her tenure at the Beebe which began in 1999, Valley worked at the Maplewood Elementary School, the former Holmes School, as well as the High and Middle schools.

Buonomo broke into the field as a paraprofessional, and eventually an administrator for the Partnership for Community Schools Program before becoming a full-time teacher.
Mayor Gary Christenson and Superintendent of Schools Tim Sippel presented the pair with citations earlier this week.
