Malden Drivers Will Want To Avoid This Street Thursday

MALDEN, MA — The police department announced that a portion of Medford Street will be closed on Thursday, June 5.

The closure will begin at 5 p.m. and continue throughout the night. It will be in effect in the area between Highland Avenue and West Street. The department has strongly encouraged drivers to avoid the street during the partial closure, especially during evening rush hour. The shut-down has been enacted to allow for scheduled underground gas utility work.

According to the department, officers will be on scene to facilitate traffic and monitor pedestrian safety.
