Malden School Makes U.S. News & World Report's Top High School List
The school was ranked in the top ten among MA high schools.
MALDEN, MA — U.S. News & World Report has released its latest rankings on the best high schools in the country, and a Malden school was named a top 25 high school in Massachusetts.
The Mystic Valley Regional Charter School was ranked as the sixth-best secondary school in the state. Charter schools are tuition-free public schools funded through local, state, and federal funds. There are thousands throughout the country and approximately 80 in Massachusetts. Mystic Valley first opened in 1998 and its high school campus is located on 306 Highland Avenue. According to the school, its student body is primarily composed of adolescents from Malden, Everett, Medford, Melrose, Wakefield, and Stoneham.
The school day is longer than the typical public school, beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m.
