Somerville Kicking Off Hanukkah With Menorah Lighting Celebration
Mayor Katjana Ballantyne will lead the event.
SOMERVILLE, MA — The city’s Hanukkah Menorah Lighting is being held on Monday, Dec. 15 at the City Hall Concourse on 93 Highland Ave.
The festivities are slated to begin at 6 p.m., with a rain date of Tuesday, Dec. 16 selected in the case of inclement weather. In addition to the lighting, a live musical performance of traditional songs will also be on-going, encouraging attendees to sing along. For the younger community members, “special gifts” will also be offered as a surprise. Light refreshments will be served throughout the entirety of the event.
Those who need accessibility accommodations or a language interpreter are being asked to contact Somerville’s Constituent Services. The Menorah will continue to be lit for each night of Hanukkah.
