Staple Somerville Bakery Relocating In 2026: Report

SOMERVILLE, MA — New England’s oldest bakery will have a new home in 2026, according to a report from Wicked Local.

Lyndell’s Bakery will be relocating its headquarters from 720 Broadway to 734 Broadway. Owner Jim Galatis said the current location will be torn down and replaced with a mixed-use development. He reportedly had the option to move back to the ground floor of the new space at 720 Broadway after the work was completed but plans on making the new spot the permanent location.
Lyndell’s is slated for a temporary closure in April and will reopen in early May. Lyndell’s first opened in 1887.
