SOMERVILLE, MA — One firefighter has been hospitalized with a facial injury after crews responded to a truck fire on the grounds of St. Catherine's Rectory at 179 Summer St. The department arrived on the scene at approximately 10:15 a.m. Wednesday and found the landscaping truck on fire with the blaze spreading to a nearby tree and leaf piles. Nearby residents reported hearing an explosion from the scene as well. According to Somerville fire, the flames were extinguished without any damage to the rectory. The injured firefighter was hurt by a hose coupling.
